I have always been interested in the art of story-telling and the creation of atmospheres. I love to use my knowledge, passion and experience within in the industry to find new & innovative ways of delivering messages, solving problems and ‘wow’ing audiences.
I am an interdisciplinary creative with a 13 year history in experiential and immersive event design. In the last two years I have been lucky enough to move into theatre costume and set design and have never looked back. Transitioning into theatre design had always been a goal of mine as for me it combines the best bits of experiential design and my personal passions. Designing sets and costumes to be in line with a narrative, visually stunning and also functional for a cast and story is both a fantastic and rewarding challenge.
Theatre design, for me, should be exciting, approachable and relevant. It is a tool that should not only work alongside the piece, but also work to enhance it. I like to design pieces that grow with the story being told, challenge existing perceptions and help to both immerse and connect with an audience.
Alongside my work, I have a passion for working with my hands, this includes woodworking, making puppets, photography and crafting. This passion also leads me to try to be as sustainable as possible when it comes to my design work, prioritising recycable and sustainable materials & processes where possible.
